Our Lovely Leaders
Meet our 2019-2020 Exec Board!
Hi SfW! I am a junior from Chicago, IL double majoring in Economics and Community, Environment, Development. I am passionate about social and environmental justice, inclusive sustainable development, and empowering women and communities different from ourselves. I am so honored and excited to grow and learn with this incredible community of strong women this year! SFW has been my home since the day I set foot on Penn State's campus, and has led me to some of the most incredible women in my life. It is my goal to do the same for everyone in the Schreyer for Women family. Welcome!
Director of Career Development
Hi! My name is Natasha and I am a senior studying Industrial Engineering with minors in Economics and Math. I am originally from Panama, but attended boarding school outside DC in Alexandria VA for three years, and have been living “abroad” in the States since then. On campus, along with being Director of Career Development for SfW, I am also Director of Penn State Outreach for Nittany Consulting Group (NCG) and Executive Director of Empower Orphans PSU. Outside school work, I love photography, painting and drawing, working out at Orange Theory and am a huge movie nerd. I also like to call myself an amateur foodie, and would eat sushi for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I didn’t run the risk of dying for mercury poisoning or being broke.
Hello! I'm Caitlin, this year's Schreyer for Women Administrator. I'm a sophomore working towards a B.S. in biology, focused on ecology. I'm very passionate about climate change, the environment, and conservation. I'm an undergraduate research assistant in an animal cognition research lab! I channel a lot of energy into female empowerment and mental health awareness. Since coming to college, I've been outspoken about depression and anxiety and I currently mentor 5 incoming freshman who struggle with similar problems. I just want to help make this world a better place in any way I can - and Schreyer for Women helps me do that! These women are the most incredible and supportive people I know; I hope you can discover this for yourself!
Director of Special Projects
Hi! I’m the Director of Special Projects for SfW this year! I’m a junior double majoring in Biology and English and am originally from Pittsburgh! As DoSP, I look forward to putting on unique and diverse programming and events that not only unites SfW’s three pillars, but also involves our members’ interests. Looking forward to seeing everyone, both old and new!
Director of Community Engagement
Hi! My name is Liz Druschel and I’m a junior majoring in biology with a focus in ecology and evolution and a business fundamentals certificate. I love everything outdoors, science education, and will always agree to ice cream. For me, Schreyer for Women is a community where I can always find support from other amazing women who inspire me endlessly. As the community development director, it’s my goal to continue to build this community through events that engage, inspire, and are always fun!
Director of Service
Hi! I am the Service Director for Schreyer for Women. I am a junior completing my B.A in African Studies and Political Science and minoring in Women’s Studies. I strongly believe in the power of education and its potential to break down barriers for women. Coming from an all girls high school, joining a community that strives to empower women is what makes Schreyer for Women so special for me. Last year, our service team worked hard to bring a new Days for Girls Chapter to Penn State. This initiative brings our community together to fundraise and sew reusable and sustainable female hygiene kits, to give girls the opportunity to stay in school. Service has great initiatives coming out this year and I hope you can be a part of them with us!
Chairs to the Exec Board
Hey! I am a sophomore working towards a double major in Molecular Biology and Psychology. I absolutely love anything mint chocolate chip and will never say no to ice cream. Schreyer for Women has so many amazingly talented and genuine people and has been an amazing constant for me since freshman year. I am so excited to take on the role of Service Chair and can't wait to work with Noelia to execute many successful service events, both old and new.
Career Development Chair
I am the Career Development chair and I am a sophomore. My major is Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Mathematics. I am a die-hard Taylor Swift fan and could listen to her music on repeat for days. Schreyer for Women has been a constant support group for me. This organization is filled with wonderfully talented women who are destined for success and are not afraid to reach for their goals. In collaboration with Natasha this year, I want to build upon everyone's amazing talents and help them enhance their attributes to their full potential. My main goal this year is to uplift and empower everyone around me. I can’t wait for an amazing year.
Special Projects Chair
I'm a sophomore from the far away town of State College, PA. I'm working towards a major in biology and a minor in anthropology. I absolutely love getting outdoors (hiking, camping, kayaking, etc.) and you can find me at a women's volleyball game or watching movies. I went to an all girls high school so joining SfW felt like a natural step for me as an incoming freshman. Since the first meeting, I've just absolutely loved meeting so many determined, intelligent, and unique women who help shape my life for the better. I'm really looking forward to working with the Director of Special Projects, Anushka, to bring a variety of workshops, events, and ideas to the club this year!
Hi! I’m a first-year student from Dallas, TX double majoring in Criminology and Global & International Studies. On campus, I have dedicated myself to exploring new ways to learn from our student body and maintaining a positive environment for our upcoming professionals. I am passionate about diverse community’s and what there is to learn from them, so I have had a blast growing with the beautiful women of Schreyer. As the Social Chair for Sfw, I look forward to connecting the women in our Schreyer family.
