A Beloved Partner
Hekima Place is a home for orphaned and vulnerable girls in Kiserian, Kenya. The home is a community built upon love, safety, education, and faith for girls of all ages, most of whom have experienced traumatic lives prior to their residence at Hekima Place. When Maddie Taylor, our first ever SfW President, told the organization of her volunteering visits to this magical home, we knew we had to help her support Hekima. This year, four members travelled to Kenya to volunteer for two weeks in May; it was an incredible experience for them and will pave the way for future volunteering opportunities through SfW at Hekima. Throughout the year, we write letters to girls in our Pen Pal program at the home as well as raise money through weekly pizza sales. Hekima is a valued partner to SfW and we are wholeheartedly dedicated to empowering the girls who live there, each and every day.
As of Spring 2018...
